Walnut corner - so named as there used to be a walnut tree orchard in the field between Holt Road and the old vicarage
Great Walsingham is bigger - the size of the old parish of Great Walsingham is far bigger that that of Little Walsingham
Gun enplacement - During the second world war there was Spigot mortar emplacement located behind the foundry
br - this was a pit surrounding a concrete pedestal, or 'thimble', which was used to mount a spigot mortar (an anti tank gun).
These were deployed by the Home Guard during World War Two as an anti invasion measure, it was filled in after the war
Mount Pleasant - was built in response the 1930 Housing Act which obliged councils to provide housing for those living in poor quality housing,
The first house were completed in 1935 and housed people from Cokers Hill, followed by those from Knights Gate and then what was known as workhouse yard,
(the latter being occuoied by former residents of the work house at Thursford)
Furher construction expanded the estate down to the corner opposite St Peter's Road, then completion with more houses along Wells Road,
with the latter being completed in 1958, originally there were to be houses in the field opposite as the path on that side of Wells Road shows,
Up to the construction of the second phase of the development the empty land between was allotments,
there also allotments in the furthest corner of the estate, anongside a water tower
(likewise there were other allotments located on Cokers Hill, up Egmere Road and along Westgate and Scarborough Roads)
Secret Army - Walsingham had it's own 'secret army'during WW2. There were a unit of the Auxiliary Units based in, and formed, from the village
International cricket - An England cricketer once played for Walsingham
Sea views - The sea can clearly be seen from both Tuthill and the public footpath running between Hindringham and Thursford Roads
