This had been a 'builders yard' for some time - as previous landlords listed show (below)

Oddly, the last landlord/lady were John Beckham and Lucy Beckham
who afterwards took over the King's head,
Which was later managed by Billy Thompson - who returned to manage the shop next door !
It is believed the
John Beckham who died as a German POW was their son
Styman's - Grocer
Owned by Styman's of Wells who also had a shop in Great Snoring
As with other village shops, they used young lads as delivery boys on saturday mornings
Billy Thompson, who had been the landlord at the former Kings Head pub, was the manager,
his wife worked there as well
